Meet Erin & Her Team

Erin Ronstadt
Attorney

My clients generally feel a sense of relief, because I am often the first person to truly listen to them. I take on their challenges as if they are my own. My clients find I am passionate and knowledgeable. I am attentive to their needs and keep them apprised about their cases. I love to hear my clients say that they feel like they are an extension of my family.

My life’s calling is to hold insurance companies accountable for the promises they make. My father was a disabled veteran who worked hard his entire life only to face unfair obstacles in seeking disability benefits. I understand my clients would give anything to be healthy and back at work. I endeavor to effectively tell my clients’ stories and creatively challenge the limitations of the law. I work diligently to secure the best possible outcome for those I represent.

I’ve represented clients against most of the major insurance companies and several Fortune 500 companies. My experience includes handling independent medical examinations, peer reviews, insurance carrier interviews, surveillance, vocational assessments, and other tools used to assess eligibility for disability benefits. I’ve assisted clients struggling with a multitude of disabling illnesses, both physical and mental in nature.

I’ve handled long-term and short-term disability benefits appeals and litigation, insurance bad faith, and several other issues within the purview of disability law. I routinely manage cases at all stages, from assisting with proof of loss to litigating claims in state and federal court. With my team you receive compassionate but aggressive advocacy, and superior client service.

Clayton Richards
Attorney

My clients will tell you that I’m dependable. I will know your case, and I will know how best to win it. I’m a great listener, friendly, patient, composed, and confident. Above all, I am eager to learn about my clients, and I take pleasure in seeing them catch the breaks they so desperately need and deserve.

I have been representing the disabled for most of my career, and I relish the opportunity to work with the underdog. The people we represent come from all walks of life, but have a lot in common: they are honest, hard-working people who have fallen on hard times and, at their most vulnerable, have gotten the shaft by the insurance companies or government programs charged to protect them. I’ve seen good people get used up and hung out to dry by bureaucracies and large corporations time and time again throughout my career. My sense of purpose is fighting for these people. Since joining the firm, I’ve drafted Social Security appeals, prepared cases for hearings, and represented clients at Social Security hearings. Today, I take the lessons of those years of Social Security disability experience and apply them to long-term disability appeals and litigation.

Josef Hespenheide
Sr. Legal Analyst

I have over 11 years of experience in disability law and advocacy. Prior to moving to disability insurance claims, I worked in the Social Security Disability legal field as a legal writer, supervisor, and advocate. As an advocate and non-attorney representative, I represented claimants in Social Security Disability hearings before Administrative Law Judges in Arizona, California, and Nevada. I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BA degree in History. I now bring my experience to developing and crafting appeals and legal arguments alongside the attorneys at Ronstadt Law. If you want to put a smile on my face, ask me about my pug, Pudding!
